Ever dream of owning your own 5 star restaurant, well with a degree in restaurant and culinary management you will be half way there. Your degree will allow you to manage the ins and outs of the restaraunt business. Aspiring restaraunt owners and experienced cooks and chefs are most common in this area of study. The cooks and chefs are more often looking to gain additional training in order to improve from kitchens to managers or starting their own restaurant. Restaurant and culinary classes do not focus on actuall cooking itself. The concentration of this class is the managing of the restaurant including human resources, training, compensation, and legal issues within the industry. Your class will prepare you for the business aspect that comes into the restaurant such as; marketing, supply, design, financial management, pricing, purchasing, and your accounting. It will also prepare you for the costumer, your income source. Teach you the training you will need to apply to your employees, bus boys, waiters, etc.
